The Thirty-three Temples of Ise Saigoku are one of Mie Prefecture's tourist attractions and have a history of over 1,000 years.
A movement is currently underway to register it as a Japanese Heritage Site (Agency for Cultural Affairs). It has a history of over 1,000 years and is about to be upgraded to a national heritage site, a Japanese Heritage Site. The Shikoku Pilgrimage is famous, but I think it is natural that obstacles will appear in life, such as sadness, such as the loss of family members, and confusion in life. There are many ways to resolve obstacles, but the heart is healed by involvement through the pilgrimage. The culture of the pilgrimage, which has continued for over 1,000 years, can also make you think more positively. There are also academic studies by psychologists on the effects of the pilgrimage (the effect of walking through prayer). There is a lot of movement and research on the Shikoku Pilgrimage to register it as a World Heritage Site. First of all, I would like the person involved to become interested in the effects of the pilgrimage, and to gain experience through the experience, such as whether it suits them and what kind of people it is likely to be effective for, and to have a different yardstick. In other words, I think it can be called a form of psychotherapy. I think that the effects can be expected when the conditions are met, such as the person, time, and place for which it is suitable. I would like you to experience it for yourself. I hope that this will also be an opportunity to accumulate evidence of the psychotherapy known as pilgrimage, and to develop mental health and welfare. I also referred to the research on pilgrimages by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. During the experience session, I would like to read sutras, which are done during pilgrimages. If you are unable to do so, please observe. This is also a public relations activity for Japan Heritage, and I would like to hold this experience session with mental health at the forefront. During the pilgrimage, Ise Musubi Kobo will be guiding us with their volunteer cooperation. We are planning to make it enjoyable for people from outside the prefecture as well. We look forward to your participation.
