A long-established store loved by locals and tourists

There are many famous historical stores in Ise that are loved by locals and tourists. Please try it once.Introducing Ise's historic long-established stores, centered on the "Goodwill Association" that was created with the intention of protecting the good old goodwill of Ise.

Ise Goodwill Association

We interviewed Mr. Takaaki Nishimura of Kitaya, who is the oldest member of the current Ise Goodwill Association and has been active since its inception.

About the background of the establishment

The Ise Goodwill Association was established in 1981. It was formed for "the bustle of the outer shrine".We worked at volunteer stores around the Oshiodo (*) from Nikenchaya to Geku.
(*) The route for transporting Mishiodono Shrine to Jingu is defined, and this is called Mishiodo.

About activity

I ran the Dondoko Maru (*) to the Niken Chaya on the Seta River, held a Sakuhi market in front of the outer shrine, and even if I didn't want to stay only in Ise, I jumped out of Ise for an event in Osaka. What I worked on.The plan itself has disappeared, but when we talked about a hotel coming in front of Ujiyamada Station, I had a dream of creating something like an antenna shop for the Ise Norenkai.I did various things even if I couldn't get enough sleep.Looking back on those days, the words are bad, but I think I can't do it unless I'm stupid (laughs).
(*) A ship that came to visit Ise by sea from the Kawachi area during the Edo period arrived at Nikenchaya. The people of Ise called him "Dondoko-san" because of the lively appearance of the musicians.

About Ise in the future

The efforts of the Ise Goodwill Association have had some influence on group activities such as the "Geku Nigiwai Conference" and the "Ise City Tourism Association Youth Club" and events such as "Ise Rakuichi".The "Kifuda Business Store Association" that I am currently participating in is also a store association that considers the development of the town and hospitality, just like the Ise Norenkai.Ise is a town of gods who have been serving the Kibiki event and the Shiraishi holding event once every 20 years while receiving them from their seniors, and I am happy that various things like Ise will be passed on to the next generation.I hope that not only the Ise Norenkai but also young people will continue to do their best together.
