On August 31, 2026, a fire broke out in the Meirin Shopping Street in front of Kintetsu Ujiyamada Station in Ise City. The fire spread to approximately 4300 square meters, covering almost the entire shopping street, and destroyed 59 buildings.

Since the shopping street included member stores of the Ise City Tourism Association and tourist spots related to Eiji Sawamura, the Ise City Tourism Association decided to support the recovery and reconstruction of the Meirin Shopping Street by donating funds to Ise City and calling on the Ise City Tourism Association and its members to provide support.

We hope that all those affected by the disaster will be able to return to their normal lives as soon as possible.
