Futamiura Beach was established in 1881 (Meiji 15) and was designated as the first official beach in Japan in 1882 (Meiji 16).Emperor Taisho also trained in swimming when he was a child.At that time, sea bathing was for medical purposes (yokuya), and there were cold baths in the sea and warm baths in warm seawater in bathtubs on the beach.
Along the coast, ryokan towns have been formed that attract guests with hot springs, including ryokan inns with seawater baths.
A swimming beach is opened in the summer.
The beach is compact and popular with families, and events are sometimes held here.
In addition, you can go in and out of the beach freely even outside the opening period of the beach.
