Futaminoura Beach was established in 1881 (Meiji 15), and was designated as the first officially recognized beach in Japan in 1882 (Meiji 16).Emperor Taisho also trained in swimming when he was a child.At that time, there were cold baths for medical purposes (hot springs) and hot baths for soaking in seawater warmed in a beach tub. An inn town has been formed to attract guests at Shioyuji.
Currently, we have a beach in the summer.The compact beach is deeply popular with families, and occasional events are held.You are free to enter and leave the beach even outside the beach opening period.
